Au Départ marks the return of its most iconic silhouette, the trunk, with two new pieces crafted for today’s collectors and dreamers: the Jewellery Trunk and the 8-Slot Watch Trunk. Each handcrafted in France, these trunks are shaped from poplar wood, finished with brass hardware plated in gold, and sheathed in canvas and full grain calf leather corners.
Every detail, from the construction of the wooden barrel to the lining of the interior, is guided by a single artisan, who devoted 37.5 hours to each box, drawing on over five years of experience.
At their heart lies Au Départ’s signature hexagon motif, rendered in a modern interpretation of pointillism, a design language rooted in the Maison’s 19th-century origins. Both objects are more than functional: they are companions of permanence, designed to transform storage into ritual, and possession into poetry.
